Places to Eat
Tom’s Kitchen, London – This all rounder serves
great cocktails and carefully sourced ingredients in a cool dining room and
bar.
Maggie Jones, London – Quaint to the point of kitsch,
lovely roasts and bags of character
Andrew Edmunds, London – Still got great wines,
still does great priced, great food, check out the room temperature beef.
The Greenhouse, London – Fine dining with as little
fuss as possible, lovely atmosphere at both lunch and dinner. Rated
Gourmet Burger Kitchen, London – Ok it might not be
posh nosh, but never disappoints, serves awesome burgers with service to match.

Sosho, London – Guaranteed Great cocktails with a Tonkin
sound track, check out their Sunday night mash up..
Mahiki, London – Meaning underworld in Polynesian,
Crazy cocktails let you escape into tropical world where fun is at the top
of everyone agenda.
Supper Club, Amsterdam – Been open for 15yrs and still
going strong. Make sure you ask which toilet to use or you could be in trouble.
Lost Society, London – Timeout bar of the year
06, and a worthy winner, great cocktails, good food offer and a lovely
out side space.
Mojos, Leeds – Their Motto is “music for the
people” and they never disappoint, fab drinks, great music, amazing!
30/7, Moscow – Don’t arrive until around 2 in
the morning, in this place anything goes. Drink classic cocktails listening
to euro house…. Oh come on! When in Rome.
Places to drink Cocktails
Little Branch, New York- Again Sacha does not disappoint,
and leads the way in the New York cocktail Scene
Der Raum, Melbourne – The biggest selection of Absinthe
in the southern Hemisphere. Bottles hanging from the ceiling on bungees. Jaw
dropping cocktails
Green Door, Berlin- Hard to find, but well worth it. Situated
in West Berlin, this bar has a great cocktail list with knowledgeable staff.
Papa Zouks, Antigua – The best bar the world to watch
the sun go down and drink Ti Punch or one of 200 rums.
Jake’s Bar, Leeds – Multi award winning bar.
Jake is one of the hardest working bartenders in the industry, and an all
round nice cat.
Places to Drink Beer
The Victoria, London (Paddington) – A good selection
of beer with a great hideaway upstairs in a fire lit library
Akkurat, Sweden – The best pub in the world, the biggest
selection of beer and whiskey I have every seen. All the bartenders look like
washed up rockers, Quality.
Bedford Arms, Wiltshire – This little gem is hidden
away in the Wiltshire countryside and is perfect for a weekend break.
Market Place, London – Great outside space, interesting
beers served, with food along side. You can’t go wrong be it day or
night.
The Rake, London (se1) – How they can fit over 100
beers into a pub the size of a snooker table escapes me. Quality boozer

Klaus K, Helsinki – Modern hotel with a crazy story behind
it, (the seven eggs of Kalevala) Great restaurant and cocktail bar, very comfortable
rooms.
The Plaza, New York –The backdrop to a 1000 movies,
and Old New York just how you imagined it.
Emerald Lake Lodge, Canada – 10 out of 10 for customer
service, open fires in all the rooms, an amazing view of the emerald lake.
It has to be seen to be believed.
The Balmoral, Edinburgh – A beautiful hotel in a beautiful
city. The best classic hotel with a great selection of single malts.
The Half-moon, Montego Bay – Yeah man! You get to stay
in your own mansion with pool over looking crystal blue sea.
Places for Romance
Momos, London - Perfect surroundings for early door romantic
drinking, good wine list.
Icebergs, Sydney – Overlooking Bondi beach, sit and
drink well made martinis with the option of eating fantastic seafood.
Milk & Honey, London/New York – Quality drinks
and service, and gives you the opportunity to hide away from the rest of the
world.
Black Cherry, London – An all rounder, food and drink
with nice interior, looking forward to see the garden this summer.
The Bowery, Brisbane – Plays live jazz, excellent drink
selection, with booth seating.
Places to drink Coffee
Flat white, London – Rocking the London coffee scene,
the boyz from NZ showing the rest how it’s done. Great for coffee on
the hoof.
The Woseley, London – Bags of charm and elegance,
time and care taken over their coffee, perfect for day time meetings.
Monmouth Coffee House, London – Has been open for years
and just goes from strength to strength. Never disappoints.
Grand Café, Oxford – Whenever in Oxford this
is a must, wile a way your afternoon and watch the world go by.
Bar Italia, London – Bags of history, this old Mod
hang out is still too cool for school. Great for people watching in Soho. |
